Hello! Thanks for visiting my website and taking the time to get to know a little bit about me.
I am an Individual, Marriage, and Family Therapist registered with the state of Oregon, practicing in Lake Oswego, Oregon. I love this community and want to do all I can to help families in this area thrive! Developing ourselves, maintaining our relationships and keeping our little ones moving in the right direction is no small feat. As a business owner, wife, and mother of two teenagers, I understand how challenging this can be! Thus, supporting and helping others in this area has become a passion of mine!
My background might surprise you since I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and was a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in my early career. After living the city life in Chicago, IL and then a brief stint in the Netherlands, I stayed home to raise my girls for several years. In that time I became a Business and Life Coach through Coach University and then later went on to get my Masters Degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling from George Fox University. My passion for the family, for communication, developing our little ones, making sense of the world we live in, and creating meaning in our lives is what motivates me to get up each day.
This translates to helping others through the counseling process in areas such as family development, childhood behavioral issues such as ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and grief, as well as helping teens work through their development, anxiety, and social pressure. I love working with parents, developing their own expertise in supporting their children with love and limits! And I have a special place in my heart for supporting women in their various roles at work, home, and managing the transitions that keep occurring in their lives. (I even help dads to develop stronger relationships with their children and spouses!) Couplehood is an important part of family life and I am also committed to helping partners develop a stronger friendship, resolve conflict, and face the deeper issues that may be keeping them from a healthy and fulfilling relationship.
I strive to be an interactive, collaborative, and experiential therapist, offering support and practical feedback to help you effectively address your personal life challenges. I hope to do this with compassion and understanding. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach that I tailor to you as a unique client. I want to help you build on your strengths to attain the personal life you long for and were meant to be living!
My professional memberships include the Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, the Oregon Counseling Association, the Association for Play Therapy, and the Oregon Association for Play Therapy.
